The Region
Umbria, the green heart of Italy, holds among its green hills countless medieval villages, from the most famous to the smaller but equally valuable. The roads wind along the sides of hills in a sweet and sinuous way; after each turn you get an unique view as a picture postcard.
Whatever will be the season when you visit us, this land will give you infinite emotions. You will be charmed by the warm autumn colours and the festivals of chestnuts and other seasonal products. It will warm you in the restaurants with game dishes and truffles in winter; it will enlighten you with fields of wheat in spring and will delight you with the feasts of berries. It will offer you the fiery summer colours; the jasmine scented nights and endless fields of sunflowers, and the nights come alive by many festivals.
Land rich in art; history; culture; archaeology; nature; crafts; food and wine. A region so small that nothing is far away; where everything is blended to give rise to a patchwork of experiences, views and emotions. A land that is known abroad as "the green heart of Italy"; and that remains forever in the hearts of those who visit.
Umbria: an enchanted place, a magical place, a place of mind before a geographical location.

The country house
Casale Antiche Spezie is a beautiful stone structure having a small but workable vineyard; a small vegetable garden, fruit trees, area for aromatic spices, gazebos and covered patios. Located in Papiano, outside Marsciano and easily reachable exiting from the free highway E45 and following the provincial road # 375 with one hundred meters of white road in good condition.
The house is in an ideal position to reach all the Umbrian venues and the neighbouring Tuscany, Lazio and Marche. Marsciano, land of the brick and terracotta, is strategically positioned in the centre of Umbria.
Consisting of two buildings connected with patio, the country house lies in a flat area surrounded by fields of wheat and sunflowers, with the qualifying position of the sun from sunrise to sunset. Recently renovated with all modern comforts and ecology-friendly (solar panels and pellet stove), however, the original and rustic tones have been kept and are visible in the wood beams, fireplaces, exterior rocks, the 'pianelle' and 'cotto', tiles floors.
